Shri Krishna Sinha (21 October 1887 – 31 January 1961), was the first Chief Minister of the Indian state of Bihar (1946–61). Except for the period of World War II, Sri Krishna Singh was the chief minister of Bihar from the time of the first Congress Ministry in 1937 until his death in 1961.

Krishna (also called Shri Krishna), is an Indian television epic series, which created, written and directed by Ramanand Sagar. The series originally aired weekly on Doordarshan. It is an adaptation of the stories of the life of Krishna, based on Bhagavata Purana, Brahma Vaivarta Purana, Harivamsa, Vishnu Purana, Padma Purana, Garga Samhita, Bhagavad Gita & Mahabharat. The TV series was first broadcast on Doordarshan's Metro Channel (DD 2) from 1993. In 1996, the show was broadcast from the beginning on DD National. In 1999, the show moved to Zee where the remaining episodes were broadcast.

The Shri Krishna is being re-telecast from 3rd May, 2020 at 9:00pm daily and repeat telecast the next day at 9:00am on DD National Channel, during the 2020 coronavirus lockdown in India. [2]

Production[edit]

Shri Krishna was produced by Ramanand Sagar, Subhash Sagar and Prem Sagar under the banner 'Sagar Enterprises' and directed by Ramanand Sagar, Anand Sagar and Moti Sagar. The role of young Krishna was played by Swapnil Joshi and adult Krishna was played by Sarvadaman D. Banerjee.[3][4]

The entire series was re-telecast on Sony starting 2001 and later on Star. This series is now being re-telecasted on ShivaShakthiSai TV, a Telugu Devotional channel, from 15 January 2016.
